Amy Kuebelbeck is a freelance writer and former reporter and editor for The Associated Press and other news organizations. She describes her experience of continuing a pregnancy with a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis in her memoir, Waiting with Gabriel: A Story of Cherishing a Baby's Brief Life (Loyola Press, 2003), represented by literary agent Brian DeFiore of
DeFiore and Company Author Services, New York, NY. The book received attention from a variety of media, and Publishers Weekly
called it "exquisite." Her book also was published in Italy as Aspettando Gabriel (Edizioni
San Paolo, Milan, 2005) and in South Korea (Hainaim Publishing, Seoul, 2006).
Ms. Kuebelbeck edits the website Perinatal Hospice.org and also has been
invited to speak to medical groups and others across the U.S., Canada, and as far away as New Zealand about perinatal hospice and the issues raised in her book. She has been quoted by media including The New York Times and MSNBC.comin stories about perinatal hospice and related issues, and she was invited to contribute to a book about Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, Tea with Elisabeth.
She also is lead author of A Gift of Time: Continuing Your Pregnancy When Your Baby's Life Is Expected to Be Brief, published January 2011 by Johns Hopkins University Press. She lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
